We are the World, We are the Children Concert

“We are the World, We are the Children” was the title chosen for the concert held by Grade 2 to Grade 5 students at Sardam International School. The concert revolved around the idea that children are the future of theworld and addressed the important values of peace and unity.
Throughout the concert, Sardam International School students illustrated the possibility of different world cultures living together in harmony through their songs and performances.The students performed cultural dances they had learned from many unique cultures, starting with their very own home country Kurdistan, and across the continents including Spain, India, Iraq, Japan, Kurdistan, and Africa.
The concert was held on May 31, 2011, at the Duhok University conference hall andwas attended by a large number of parents and guests.The concert openedwith the Kurdish National Anthem, sung by students wearing colorful Kurdish clothes and raising the Kurdish flag.The students then proceeded to sing various songs that addressed the international theme. This event was a great success and would not have been possible without the hard work and continual support from the staff and students of Sardam International School.
