SARDAM STUDENTS REWARDED WITH TRIP TO SIMI CAMP
Students in grades 5 to 12 in Sardam International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, were rewarded with a weekend getaway to Simi Camp.
Students who excelled in term 1 were invited with their parents to Simi Camp for the weekend as a reward for their hard work. The students took the bus to the resort on Korek Mountain and arrived just in time to settle into their own accommodation and prepare for dinner. After dinner, the students sat around a bonfire and ate marshmallows, danced to traditional Kurdish music, and took lots of photos.
The next morning, students woke up early and prepared breakfast before taking the aerial lift to the top of the mountain. At the top of the mountain, the students played in the snow and participated in a variety of activities and games with their parents and teachers.
The purpose of this activity was to reward students for their hard work and effort. It also proved to be a great way for students to create new friendships, become more confident and independent, and develop positive relationships with their teachers and parents. “It was such a great opportunity for us to experience new things and explore new places we had never visited before. It also helped to make new friendships and meet new students we hadn’t met before,” said a student.
